CAMP WINSTON-SALEM Robert E. Camp 1963 - 2012 May 7, 1963 - Nov. 22, 2012 Robert (Rob) Edmunds Camp passed away at home on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Baltimore, MD on May 7, 1963 to the late Robert Henry Camp and Elizabeth Chambers Camp. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and went on to earn a masters degree in Operations Research at The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Rob began his career in Winston-Salem at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in December, 1988. The subsequent year he was hired by Ford Motor Credit in Dearborn, MI. He continued to work at Ford until he returned to Winston-Salem in 2002 to work at Wachovia, now Wells Fargo, and worked for the bank until his recent death. His favorite pastime was tennis - as a gifted player and enthusiastic spectator. He was a devoted husband and father and was loved dearly by all his friends and family, While living in Winston-Salem he enjoyed volunteering his time and giving back to the community. Having graduated from Winston-Salem Leadership in 2008 he chose to share his financial talents with various organizations. He will be mourned by all those who knew him. Rob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laura Vincent Camp, their two sons, Daniel Vincent and Thomas Benjamin, his mother, Betty, of Raleigh, his siblings Elizabeth Camp Trimmer of Bel Air, MD and Daniel Wright Camp of Raleigh. Service arrangements are being made for a Celebration of Life at Mt. Tabor United Methodist church in late December.
