Robert Oppel

Robert "Bob" Oppel passed away on December 2, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1944, in Lansdowne, PA to John and Betty Oppel. He was the owner of Custom Electronics Systems, Inc. in Rural Hall. He loved his work as an electrical design engineer and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Furthermore, he was an active member of Augsburg Lutheran Church. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sheila Oppel of King, NC; sons, Charles (Angie) Oppel of Winston-Salem, NC and Jason (Nancy) Oppel of Tobaccoville, NC; and grandson, Johnathan Oppel of King, NC. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Betty Oppel; brother, Richard Oppel of Broomall, PA; and sister, Joan Katz of Linden, NJ.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Augsburg Lutheran Church in the family life center. The family extends sincere thanks to the nurses at Novant Medical Center and Hospice Services. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
