SANDY RIDGE – Robert Franklin Wickline, 63, left this earthly life unexpectedly Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in the Amos Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. and other times at the residence..
Robert was born December 13, 1958, in Rockingham County, to the late Carl Vernon Wickline, Sr. and Jerlene Amos Wickline. He retired from Cudd Pressure Control as an oil control specialist after 37 years of service. He loved his grandbabies and enjoyed cooking breakfast, hunting, target practicing, logging, and watching the stock market. He also had a hobby farm of cows. He was humble and kind and could make you laugh in any situation.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James "Jim" Wickline, and a brother-in-law, Mark Hooker.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, April Gilmer Wickline; mother, Jerlene Wickline; children, Amanda Hunsucker (William), Jonathan Wickline (Amy), Kimberly Wickline (Daniel), and James Wickline (Nicole); a brother, Carl Wickline Jr; sisters, Ellie Craddock (Rev. Ronnie Craddock) and Carla Hooker; grandchildren, Dawson, Bailey, Kody, Matthew, Bret, Reese, Lincoln, Winston, Molly Claire, Roman, and Alaina; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials may be made to Amos Family Cemetery, c/o Vivian Lester, 3212 Amostown Rd., Sandy Ridge, NC 27046.

I couldn't believe when I heard the news of Roberts passing. I was fortunate to know Robert after the family bought property next to mine. Robert would be up to care for the cows and stop at the fece for an end of day chat. I looked forward to these talks. A chance to take a breather as the sun was setting and have a few laughs.
