I've seen and heard the impact my Uncle Roger has had on the people around him and my family. He is a reminder of how sacred life truly is. Everyone has spoke kind words of how extraordinary he truly was. He dedicated his life to the lord, and will forever be remembered by that. RIP Uncle Roger. You are greatly missed. We still love you and you will forever be in our hearts.

I have heard many expressions of sympathy from former classmates of Roger. Most have said they remember Roger as someone who loved to have fun, and enjoyed life!
I remember my cousin as a smiling, little trickster. I remember when he fell off his front porch, while riding a tricycle, and the porch was only about a foot off the ground, and he shattered his elbow. I remember the summers when he came to visit his Aunt Shirley, (my mom), and hang out with his cousins, Scotty and Ernest. He sang all of the time, and we begged him to keep on singing!
After he moved to North Carolina, we seldom saw him, but would often think of him. I think Roger would be so very surprised to know how many people cared about him, and how many of us have broken hearts. I am so sad for his children, and for this tragedy.
Roger, I love you.

DEEPLY impacted by this tragedy, I pray that the grief (both personal, & collective) would draw EACH of us to cling to the singular COMFORT and HOPE found in Christ:
"Come unto ME, ALL you who are weary and heavy laden, and I WILL give you REST... LEARN from ME... and you WILL find REST for YOUR souls. For MY yoke is EASY and My burden is LIGHT."
- Matthew 11:28-30

As I do not know you or any member of your family. I just wanted to say what a tragic way to lose your son, brother, father and friend. May the Lord bless you with comfort during this time.

My prayers are with Nolan's family and children. He was so proud of his kids and talked about them all the time. He was a good friend to me years ago and that is what I will remember about him.

To Roger's 2 sons: I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I have volunteered in the preschool at Calvary Baptist Church for 28 years, and I remember when your father used to bring you to the Nursery and Preschool Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings.......he was always so proud of his two boys and wanted to be sure you grew up loving God. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
