Rosemary Shaffner Obituary

Rosemary "Rosie" Motsinger Shaffner passed away on Monday, May 19th, at her home. She was born to the late Margaret Kings Motsinger and Madison Eugene Motsinger in Surry County. Rosie graduated from Sanford Prep School, in Hockessin, DE, she also received her associates degree at Surry Community College.
Rosie spent her career in retail, first at Montaldo's, then at the Gazebo at Reynolda Village, where she worked for more than 30 years. She had an eye for fashion and all things design, loved being in the garden and being at her home in Glade Valley, NC.
Ms. Shaffner was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Motsinger. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret K. Shaffner; son, Ruben Moffett (Gina); stepdaughter, Valar Wilson (Ray); five grandchildren, Amelia Rose Carter, Alex Moffett, Elizabeth Moffett, Eva Moffett, and Ryan McClellan; two brothers, Steve Motsinger (Jane), of State Road, NC, Alfred Motsinger (Dawn), of Roaring Gap, NC; and sister-in-law; Elisabeth Motsinger, of Walkertown.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Salem Funeral Home, 120 S. Main St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Online condolences may be made through www.salemfh.com.

Rosie has always been one of the very kindest, dearest people we´ve ever known. Always friendly, generous and peaceful, she was ready to get in the car and go for a ride at any time. We will always miss her and think of her often.
