She was devoted to the Lord, her family, her friends, and her neighbors. The children in her neighborhood refered to her as "Miss Ruby." She would call them over to the house for cake and candy. She touched so many people's lives with her loving spirit, and Ruby was still very humorous even after she went to the nursing home. She could make the staff laugh! Ruby and Willie had 28 wonderful years together. She was very heartbroken when he died. They worked in the yard, loved traveling, going to church, and family time. Ruby retired from Hanes Hoisery after 38 years. Then she went to work at Indera Mills for 12 years. During this time she was a former member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church and became a dedicated member of Forest Hill Baptist Church, where she served as the treasurer for many years. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation for the care you gave Ruby! Thank you to her wonderful roomate Virgina Westor. You have been a true blessing!
