STOKESDALE - Mrs. Ruby Sherron Neal, 94, of Ellisboro Road, Stokesdale, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at her home. A Rockingham County native, Mrs. Neal was born on March 2, 1912, the daughter of the late Jackson and Elizabeth Long Sherron. She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church and the last surviving of 10 children. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Abe Daniel Neal; and granddaughter Angela Neal. Surviving are her 11 children Peggy (Junior) Berry of Madison, Dave (Ann) Neal of Stokesdale, Shirley DeLancey of Summerfield, Clyde (Merle) Neal of Greensboro, Taylor (Mary) Neal of Sarasota, Fla., Jim (Gayle) Neal of Kernersville, Nancy (Chuck) Betters of Fort Collins, Colo., Dawn (Carroll) Mann of Brays Island, S.C., Gerri (Hans) Rose of Asheville, Pam (John) Richardson of Stokesdale and Steve (Deb) Neal of Kernersville; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Mrs. Neal's funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jason Constantine and the Rev. Wes McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Feb. 19, at Brooke Chapel of Forbis & Dick, and other times at 4243 Ellisboro Road.
