MOCKSVILLE - Miss Sarah Prohaden Myers, 99, of U.S. Hwy 601 S. died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Genesis Elder Care of Salisbury. Miss Myers was born July 25, 1904, in Davie County to the late John and Hanna Summers Myers and had worked at Erwin Mills for 51 years. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and was formerly a member of the Cooleemee United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Cooleemee Seniors. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and crocheting, and was an avid basketball fan. Survivors include two nieces, Ann Myers Hoover of Asheboro and Dixie Hill of Welcome; a nephew, Alex McClamrock of Salisbury; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Nellie Couch of Mocksville. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, in Eaton Funeral Chapel with Dr. John Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. They request memorials be considered for Liberty United Methodist Church, 141 Liberty Circle, Mocksville, NC 27028.
