Sarah Rose Obituary

Sarah Nell Rose, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at Harmony of Brookberry Farm assisted living. She was born in Richland, South Carolina, to the late Roy Leon and Elizabeth Jacobs Eleazer. Nell spent many years of her career as a secretary. She was involved with the international association of administrative professionals Winston-Salem chapter. Nell served as the past president of the Winston-Salem and Columbia Palmetto chapter after joining in 1966. She was a member of women of ELCA executive committee quilters and Bible study. In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell John Rose; stepson, Larry Rose; sister, Mattie Laura Kleckley; and niece, Laura Lucille Kleckley. She is survived by her stepson, Gary Rose (Judy); stepdaughter, Lynn Rose Haynes (Mike); grandchildren, Amy, and Sherry Rose; great-grandson, Tyson Allen; brother-in-law, Wyman Kleckley; daughter-in-law, Betsy J. Rose; nieces, Wynette S. Hall, and Julie K. Shelley (Mike); great-nieces and nephews, Shannon, Wade Spears (Casey), Joshua and Justin Shelley; great-great-nieces and nephews, Hunter, Emery and Everett Spears.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Officiating the service will be Rev. Katie Bryant. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Chapin, South Carolina, at a later date. Donations may be made to Mt. Olivet Church in Chapin, South Carolina, or Augsburg Lutheran Church quilting ministry in honor of Nell. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
