Shelby Swisher Obituary

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Shelby Jean Epperson Swisher, 63, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Swisher was born Nov. 5, 1939, in Patrick County, Va., to the late John K. and Ethel Lillie White Epperson. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Swisher was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed working in her flower gardens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William G. Swisher. Mrs. Swisher is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip G. and Lorraine Swisher; three daughters and son-in-laws, Patricia S. and Mark East, Pamela S. and Mike Perdue and Sandra S. and Bobby Walters, all of Kernersville; six grandsons, James East, Matthew James, William Swisher, Michael Perdue, Christopher Swisher and Ryan Walters; two brothers; two sisters; two sisters-in-laws; a brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Swisher will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall, with the Rev. Mike Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Mom was the world's greatest mom, grandma and friend. We will always miss her and love her dearly.
