Winston-Salem – Stuart Graham Smith, 41, passed away September 23, 2022. He was born September 27, 1980, in Surry County, to Walter Graham Smith Jr. and Sherri Casstevens Smith. Stuart was employed by Casstevens Lawncare. He enjoyed sports and loved going to sporting events with his father and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherri Smith; grandfathers, Graham Smith and Thomas Casstevens. Surviving are his children, Stratton Smith, Sayda Smith; father, Walter Smith; brother, Seth Thomas Smith (fiancé - Joseph Cabosky); grandmothers, Shirley Smith, Joan (D.C.) Swaim; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church, by the Rev. Phillip Link. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Stuart will lie-in-state from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, at North Oak Ridge Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Smith family. I have so many fond memories of Stuart from days when he was on the swim team with my sons to the many football games we attended. My heart breaks for Walter and the family but we will hang onto and cherish those special memories. I always valued my friendships with the Smith family.
