Tommy Furr Obituary
Tommy Wayne Furr, 62, of Raleigh, passed away suddenly, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his home. He was born December 29, 1960. He lived in Winston-Salem, N.C. during his high school years, moving to Wake Forest, N.C. after graduating from West Forsyth High School in 1979. He worked over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry before retiring. He enjoyed playing baseball, golf and going fishing. He loved sports, especially Notre Dame football, NC State basketball, and Carolina Hurricanes hockey.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Ross Furr. He is survived by a family who dearly loved him, his mother, Carolyn Furr, two sisters, Elaine Schrodt and husband Scott, and Lenora Furr, nephew, Zachary Schrodt and wife Sarah and great niece, Magnolia Kate Schrodt, three uncles, Robert Horne, Ted Furr, and David Ralston, and three aunts, Sherry Helms, Katherine Horne, and Vickie Furr, and numerous cousins and extended family.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, N.C. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
