Tony Milton Transou passed away unexpectedly in his home in Clemmons, NC on February 12, 2021 at the age of 79. Tony was born in Elkin, NC on September 2, 1941 to the late Robert and Ethel Transou. He grew up in Boonville, NC with his sisters Kay and Nan. He graduated from Boonville High School, attended Catawba College where he received his undergraduate degree and then went on to receive his MBA from Wake Forest University. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army Intelligence. Tony worked at Winston-Salem Dental Care for over 25 years and retired as their Director of Finance. In his prime, Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. In recent years, he thoroughly enjoyed researching his family genealogy.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, sister Kay Transou Hood and her husband Edward Hood, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Allison (Jason) Abernethy; grandchildren Leah and Zack Abernethy, all of Camas, WA; sister Nan Transou Romaine of Wake Forest, NC; nieces Heather Romaine Crane of Wake Forest, NC, Molly Hood O'Brien (David) Watkins of Darien, CT and Lisa Hood (Bob) Bezzeg of Campobello, SC; great nieces Lila Crane and Cailin O'Brien; great nephews Connor and Cary O'Brien.

Tony was a quiet, reserved man with a dry wit. He had a deep love for his family, was a great provider and always a thoughtful and much loved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boonville Community Cemetery, P.O. Box 166, Boonville, NC 27011, and the N.C. Wildlife Federation, 1346 St. Julien St., Charlotte, NC 28205.
