YADKINVILLE - Mrs. Violet Mae Bodsford Hayes, 57, of 2025 Joe's Drive, Yadkinville, widow of the late Roger Dale Hayes, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 13, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Hayes was born April 19, 1948, in Forsyth County to the late Louie Jacob Bodsford and Abbie Elizabeth Zimmerman Bodsford. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roger Anthony "Andy" and Lucinda Hayes of Mount Airy; two grandsons, Tracy Hayes and Terry Hayes, both of Mount Airy; five sisters, Opal White of Kernersville, Elizabeth Motsinger of Clemmons, Martha Porter of Winston-Salem, Sandra Hunt of Winston-Salem and Debbie Wike of Granite Falls; and special friends Sheila Tritt of Mount Airy and Elsie Stout of Yadkinville. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by two sisters, Eupher Zine Burton and Mary Reeves; and a brother, Louie Arnold Bodsford. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Union Primitive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reggie Darnell and the Rev. Shane Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, Dec. 14, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 161 Kodiak Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
