William "Bill" Gray Martin of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away on January 15, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Bill fought a courageous battle with cancer in the last eight months of his life. His Christian faith from childhood was a source of strength and comfort.

Bill was born January 28, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Warren T. Martin and Margaret Vance Martin. Bill served in the U. S. Air Force for four years and was awarded the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor of science and master of science in forestry. Bill was retired from the U. S. Forest Service, Timber Management after twenty-three years of service. Bill retired from Wake Forest Health Sciences as a project manager in trauma research after eighteen years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.

Bill is survived by his wife Karen of the home, brother Robert W. Martin of Franklin, Tennessee, and four daughters who were a light in his life: Gloria Pulliam and husband David, of Flowery Branch, Georgia; Jennifer and husband Bill, and two grandchildren of Georgia; and Sarah Martin and Megan Martin of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Interment will be in Bell Buckle, Tennessee, the childhood home of his mother's family. In consideration of the current pandemic a family graveside service will be held in Bell Buckle, Tennessee at a later date.
