Barbara Mary Caine
May 19, 1931 - April 10, 2025
LOWELL - Barbara Mary Caine, 93, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara's life was marked by love, service, and an unshakable commitment to her family, faith and country.
Barbara was born on May 19, 1931, the daughter of George and Adele (Prokupek) Seis in Antigo, Wisconsin. She was a 1949 graduate of Antigo High School and a graduate of Langlade County Normal School for teaching. Barbara was recruited to teach at the Lowell Grade School. She met Chester on a blind date and it was love at first sight for them both. They were married seven weeks later on July 25, 1953, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville, Wisconsin. They shared 71 wonderful years, raised seven children and built a strong family legacy.
Alongside Chester, Barbara helped operate Caine Transfer, Inc. for 70 years, where her hard work and dedication was instrumental in laying the foundation for a successful family business. As the Caine Family Matriarch, Barbara was a pillar of strength and unity, always leading by example.
Barbara was a devout member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she served as a catechist and Altar Society member for many years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, whom she called upon daily for strength, guidance and comfort. Barbara proudly served on the Dodgeland School Board, as an organizer and president of VFW Sweethearts and was a dedicated volunteer for the 40th Infantry Division Korean War Veterans Reunions.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her husband of 71 years, Chester; her children: Jeffrey (Joan) Caine, Gregory (Debbie) Caine, Steven (Connie) Caine, Daniel (Susan) Caine, Cynthia Caine Treleven, Thomas (Anne) Caine and Andrew (Brenda) Caine; grandchildren: Teresa (Jason) Chambers, Tim (Katie) Caine, Brian (Traci) Caine, Mike (Shannon) Caine, Chad (Mary) Caine, Luke (Nicole) Caine, Melissa (Bryce) Arnes, Sam (Trisha) Caine, Ben Caine, Joe Caine, Meaghan (Tyler Pozolinski) Moynihan, Matt Moynihan, Dan (Katie Loomis) Moynihan, Nolan Caine, John Caine, David Caine Treleven, Anne (Vinny) Cabrera, Cassandra (Jake Yandre) Caine, Danielle (Jake) Zess, Patrick Caine, Grace Caine and Matthew Caine; her sister: Georgia McEldowney of Rhinelander; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Seis, daughter-in-law Sheila Caine, grandchildren: Justin Caine and Kathleen Caine.
A visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, April 26th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville beginning with a Rosary at 10:45 a.m. and visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Father Will Arnold as celebrant. Following Mass will be interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Lowell and a luncheon at the Lowell VFW Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barbara's name may be directed to Medical Missionaries of Mary, Missionary Fraternity of Mary or the Lowell VFW Post #9392.
