Daniel P. "Dan" O'Brien age 46 passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025 at his home in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. He was born March 7, 1979 to Mike and Kriss (Schelvan) O'Brien in Columbus, Wisconsin. He graduated from both Columbus High School and U.W. Whitewater.

Dan was a hard working, courageous, and genuine person. He was a kind, thoughtful man known for his gentle spirit and caring nature. He was a humble man who was honorable and took care of his partner. He spent his career in finances as an underwriter and had an interest in trading stocks.

Golfing was a passion of his along with hanging out with friends and watching sports. Dan enjoyed a life full of adventure and love for his family. He loved traveling stateside and overseas with his girlfriend, Luck. Dan was a cancer survivor and unfortunately left us way too soon.

Survivors include his father Mike; his sister Molly; his brother Tim; his long-time girlfriend Luck; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack O'Brien and Eleanor "Spin" O'Brien; his grandfather Woody Schelvan and his mother Kriss in 2014.

Thanks to all the people in the medical field, and Dan's friends and relatives that have supported him over many years.

A Celebration Of Life will be at the Columbus Country Club from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. on Sunday, January 11, 2026. A private family service will be held at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus at a later date.
