PORTAGE - Elmer Walter Glaeske age 89 of Portage, Wis., died on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wis.

Elmer was born on November 4, 1936, in Long Prairie, Minn., to Walter and Lydia (Wille) Glaeske.

Elmer was a 1954 graduate of Oconomowoc High School, he attended Spencerian College in Milwaukee, Wis., and received a degree in accounting in 1957. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for two years and was in the Army Reserves for an additional six years.

Elmer married Bonnie Juenamann on April 27, 1963.

Elmer began his CPA career in Milwaukee, Wis., receiving his license in 1969. They moved to Portage in 1970, in 1971 partnered with an accounting firm making Miller, Brussell, Ebben and Glaeske, LLC. Elmer retired in 1998.

Elmer loved the game of golf, obsessively and enjoyed Portage High School athletics.

Elmer is survived by his three sons: Kevin (Angela), Keith and Matthew. Four grandchildren Max, Felix, Rex, and Beatrix. One brother Vilas (Ruth) Glaeske.

Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, and a brother Orville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Portage, Wis. Rev. Scott Schultz will be officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 10 a.m. to the time of the service at 11 a.m.
