PORTAGE - Joseph P. Rowin, age 75, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by his side on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1948, to Rollie and Ethel Rowin. He was a graduate of DeForest High School Class of '66.
After graduation he joined the United States Marines. After getting out of service his career was being an over the road truck driver for 42 years. He always said he hauled everything but babies. Lots of times bonus son, Willie went with him on the road as well as his grandson, Christopher.
He loved fishing, traveling with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandbabies.
Survivors include his wife of 28 yrs., Sandra; daughter, Schana (Johnny) Kindvall of Evansville; son, Troy Rowin of Stoughton; bonus children: daughter, Bobbie Sue (Tim) Bailey of Edgerton, daughter, Laura Brown of Edgerton, son, Ben (Pamela) Rowin of Brodhead, son, Bill (Kayla) Rowin of Janesville; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; One special little girl "Amara Mary Lou Rowin" will hold a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie and Ethel, and five brothers.
I would like to thank Agrace team for the compassionate care especially Heather, Dawn and Derek. I can't express enough how you helped all of us thru such a trying time.
Celebration of Life will happen at a later date.
