Norman Wiersma Obituary

Norman Robert Wiersma

July 1, 1943 - September 26, 2025

RANDOLPH - Norman Robert Wiersma, age 82 of Randolph, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Madison.

Norman was born on July 1, 1943, son of Clifford and Alberta (Boomsma) Wiersma Sr. He was united in marriage to Ardis Alsum on December 13, 1963, at First Reformed Church in Friesland. Norman attended Country School, where he laid the foundation for a life of hard work and dedication, traits that defined him throughout the years as a dairy farmer.

Known for his friendly demeanor and infectious laughter, he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, particularly hunting and fishing, always eager to spend time enjoying the great outdoors. After the passing of his wife Ardis, Norman found love again with his high school sweetheart, Marlene Hughes. It was a special moment when, on September 6, 2019, one call rekindled a love that had stood the test of time. They spent six wonderful years together, creating memories that will forever be cherished. He was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church.

Norman is survived by his special friend, Marlene Hughes; four children, Kenneth (Jennifer) Wiersma of Necedah, Darrell (Shelly) Wiersma of Randolph, Shelly (David) Cupery of Randolph and Brian (Teresa) Wiersma of Randolph; ten grandchildren, Marc (Candice) Wiersma, Kimberly (Mark) Gessner, Alicia (Dan) Pulvermacher, Tiffany (Jason) Lingle, Sam (Rebecca) Wiersma, Jon (Hailey) Cupery, Josh (Molly Nelson) Cupery, Austin Wiersma, Brianna Wiersma and Ashtyn Wiersma; twenty three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (Linda) Wiersma and Marvin (Karen) Wiersma; four sisters-in-law, Thelma Wiersma, Harlene Kok-Driesenga, Janice Syens, Thelma Rozema; a brother-in-law, Randy (Marlene) Alsum; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardis Wiersma in 2018; parents; brothers, Wayne Wiersma and Clifford "Bud" Wiersma, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Roy Alsum, Ron Kok, Jay Driesenga, Jim Syens, Ken Rozema. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Second Christian Reformed Church of Randolph, 332 Tamarack Street, Randolph.

A funeral service for Norman will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Second Christian Reformed Church of Randolph with Rev. Keith Buist officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.
