Wisconsin Rapids - Dennis Lee Olson, age 75, of Wisconsin Rapids (Town of Grant) passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids with family by his side.

Funeral services for Dennis will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 9 and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Beth Rohn-Habhegger will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites by VFW Post #2534.

Dennis was born October 21, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan to George and Linda (Morgan) Olson. He graduated from Cudahy High School. He served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He married Elaine Saeger on January 28, 1969 in Waukegan, Illinois. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage. Dennis worked as a heavy equipment operator-foreman with Operating Engineer Local 139 until his retirement.

Throughout his life Dennis was active he loved hunting with his buddies at the cabin and enjoyed fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and making everyone laugh with his beautiful smile. He loved to reminisce about the past. He was always there to help if someone needed it. He enjoyed country music, especially the Mavericks. Dennis and Elaine enjoyed time at the casinos. He had many favorite snacks. His one-of-a-kind creations will be missed by many.

Dennis was a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of America, VFW Post # 2534 and American Legion Post # 0139 and he supported law enforcement officers across the nation.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; three children: Suzanne (David) Norship, George (Tracy) Olson, and ChrisAnne (Shane Williams) Olson; five grandchildren: Jesse (Rhonda) Norship, Kayla Olson, Tara Olson, Belinda (Jacob Schindler) Norship, and Brock Williams; three great-grandchildren: Jaylon Norship, Treyton Staples, and Scarlett Staples and sister, Dianne McGregor. He further survived by many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Dakins and Emily Saeger. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Kuhn; and infant son, Donald Olson.
