Isabel Hoffman Obituary
Isabel "Izzy" Monica Hoffman was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to Michael and Agnes Halkoski on August 15, 1924. Isabel passed away peacefully on Saturday July 8th. Isabel graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. While attending LHS she was active in the Chemistry Club, Athletic Association and the Yearbook Staff. After high school, she attended Wisconsin Rapids Normal School for Teaching. She met Frank Hoffman at the Sherry Land Ballroom where they enjoyed dancing the waltz and the polkas to their favorite tunes. Frank and Isabel were married in May of 1945. Isabel was a dedicated Mother and homemaker. She was known for her wonderful cooking skills and enjoyed making delicious meals for her family and loved ones. Isabel encouraged her daughters to develop their knowledge and skills by leading all three of them as their Girl Scout Leader. Fishing was an activity she enjoyed especially when she caught fish larger than the ones Frank caught. The Catholic Church was an important part throughout her life only second to her role as Mother. Later in life Isabel was an active member of the Hoopa Band and she enjoyed singing and entertaining others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, brothers Ed and Ray Halkoski, sisters Rita Schmick and Louise Pieczynski. She is survived by her daughters Suzanne Mudrak (Gene), Sally Tucs (Marty) and Linda Cirilli (Gary); grandchildren Alexis Whaley, Kyle Mudrak, Christopher Tucs, Kristine Mudrak, Alex Cirilli and Nick Cirilli; her great-grandchildren Luke, Hope, Lucy and Kaelin; sister Catherine Young (Don).
Funeral services for Isabel will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 18, 2017 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Robert Schaller will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Entombment will take place at the Forest Hill Mausoleum.
