Lynn Kincaid Obituary

Kincaid, Lynn M.

Lynn M. Kincaid, age 62, of Southfield, MI died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a 4 year battle with cancer. Her devoted family and caregivers were by her side.

Born June 30, 1952 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI Lynn was the first child of Jean (Ratzburg) and Donald Kincaid. She grew up in Port Edwards, WI and graduated from John Edwards High School in Port Edwards, WI in 1970. In 1972 she married William Bumby of Ripon, WI. They were divorced in 1977. Lynn received her college undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1979. She went on from there to receive her Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 1982.

Lynn remained in Michigan the rest of her adult life, mostly near Detroit. She had a long and very successful career as a Lead Research Analyst at Maritz Research with a broad base of Fortune 500 clients, many from the automotive sector. Her work provided Lynn with inspiration, purpose, and challenge. Her co-workers gave her support, loyalty, and friendship. Her love of music, concerts, travel, and the arts provided interest, diversion, and entertainment.

Lynn is survived by her father, Donald Kincaid of Wisconsin Rapids; brother, Gary (Rebecca) Kincaid of Green Bay, WI; sisters Sharon (Jan) Holy of Port Edwards, WI; and Donna Kincaid (Kerry Ames) of Rome, WI. Also surviving are nephews Ben (Christin) Holy, Christopher Holy, Ian (Alicia) Kincaid, and Elliot (Emily) Kincaid, as well as numerous cousins.

Lynn's family would like to thank the staff at Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care and the kindness offered during the time Lynn needed that most. Thanks, too, to the Karmanos

Cancer Center in Detroit and the Carbone Cancer Center at UW Hospitals in Madison, WI. A special thanks goes out to Lynn's friends at Maritz and her dear neighborhood friend Geri Davis for their kindness and support to Lynn and family.

It's July 14th, 2016 and just found out Lynn died almost 2 years ago and I'm so sad! My memory of her is my best memory of any person I have ever worked with in my life. So beautiful, but yet so kind and smart. For almost 40 years I've had this awesome memory clip of Lynn in my mind. So good, I was telling my sister about her. So I did a web search and discovered the devastating news! Sharon and Donna, I worked with both of you as well, I hope Lynn lived an awesome life and died in peace!! The Kincaid girls, all 3 of you, the 3 nicest ladies I ever met! I'm so sad I never got to send Lynn flowers or card during her 4 year battle!! Love to all 3 of you! John

I knew Lynn for many years through my work at Maritz. She was vibrant and passionate. She challenged me and people around her. She said courageously said the things that others would not. I think of her and her attitude often. We need more Lynns in this world. To the Kincaid family, i am truly sorry. I am sorry for the delayed thoughts

My deepest sympathy to Lynn's family and friends in Wisconsin. Lynn was an inspiration to me as I went through my own cancer journey. She always had good suggestions and was always helpful. She was a true professional and always knew the right thing to say at the right time. I admired her for so many things, especially her heroic fight against cancer. I'm going to miss her.

My deepest condolences to the entire, extended Kincaid family on the passing of Lynn. I have a tremendous regard for her both professionally, as my former boss, and personally. While we hadn't spoken for some months, I will miss her irascible nature, sharp mind and caring personality and will certainly remember her fondly.

My dear Kincaid family - my heart is broken about Lynn. As you know, we were best friends for so many years in the past. All my memories of her are flooding through my head, and it is so disturbing that she is gone. It was so nice to talk to you Sharon, when I was in Port Edwards. You told me all about Lynn's illness, which made me so sad. She will always be in my heart, along with you, her happy and wonderful family, who I always enjoyed being around so much. All my sympathies for all you have been through during her illness, and for her loss.
All my love, Barbara
