Carol Sanguine Obituary
FRANKFORT – On Thursday, October 9, 2025, Carol C. (Cuchiarale) Sanguine, age 78, passed away peacefully. She was born in Utica on February 11, 1947, the daughter of the late Henry L. "Cutter" and Mary Ann (Ciufo) Cuchiarale.
Carol spent many joyous years fulfilling her passion as a hairdresser. She was a talented and cherished beautician, operating a hair salon from her home. Her chair was a place where laughter, stories, and friendships were shared, and her clients became like family. During holiday time she would set up coffee and homemade cookies.
Carol's proudest accomplishment was being a devoted mother and grandmother, kind and selfless, always putting her family first. Her consistent support and presence for her children built a lifetime of memories we all cherish. She extended this warmth to her father (Pop) and opened her home to him much to the joy of her children. The family tradition was carried on by moving to North Carolina. Fred and Carlene's home became a place filled with lots of Mom/Grandma love and care for 22 years. Caring for Joey and Melina gave her purpose and an immense sense of pride and joy. She was a devout Catholic and her spiritual foundation guided her through life's challenges with strength and grace.
Carol shared many beautiful friendships that lasted her lifetime. We all felt like family. Whenever she heard from friends she would say "I was just thinking about you," and it was true. She loved to get together with her girlfriends and share what was happening in life.
Carol is survived by her children, Andrea Sanguine and Joe Rizzo, Fred and Carlene Sanguine, and John Sanguine; grandchildren, Joey, and Melina Sanguine; husband, Fred; sister, Maria Bruno (the late Jerry D. Bruno, Jr.); brother, Anthony (Karen Force) Cuchiarale; sister-in-law, Linda Sanita (the late Dennis Sanita); brother-in-law, Gregory Sanguine; nephews, Anthony (Alison) Cuchiarale, and Michael (Joellen) Cuchiarale; and one uncle, Rocco Cucharale. She is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Tina Cuchiarale; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick Sr. and Mary Sanguine.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Sitrin Health Care Center, especially Star, Jackie, JB, and Rachel. We are thankful for the compassion and attention they extended to Carol and our family. We would also like to thank Dr. Lane Hellner from Levine Cancer Institute for years of compassionate care, which went above and beyond for Carol; and Dr. Rahul Seth from Upstate Medical Center for his kindness and dedication.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carol's Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass.
