Bridgewater, NY
John F. Terns, 67, of Bridgewater passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, October 20, 2025.
He was born on November 17, 1957 in Utica, NY a son of the late John and Audrey (Gotie) Terns. He was a graduate of Sauquoit Central Schools.
John was employed for many years with Parks Paving in Clayville. While employed there he formed a very special friendship with the owner of the company, Tadd Parks, and was considered not only a valued employee but also a close and trusted friend that could always be depended on.
In his free time he enjoyed Drag Racing, and snowmobiling. He owned and operated Team Terns Racing Snowmobile Shop. He is remembered by his family as a kind and good hearted man who appreciated the time that he spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed hosting parties at his home that he built himself. He was a gracious host who loved all of his friends and family. In his younger years he also enjoyed bowling. He will be sadly missed by his many family members and friends.
He is survived by his longtime companion Shari Birmingham, his children, John (Kathryn) Terns, Mallory (Douglas Roth) Terns, he also leaves a sister Patricia Terns. He leaves his grandchildren, Erik, DeLana, John and Jacqueline Terns, Damien, and Travis Abrams. Last but not least he leaves his Canine Companion "Maggie" who followed John wherever he went.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc. 365 West Main St in West Winfield. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery in Bridgewater.
