Robert Coley Obituary
Born on August 12, 1954, in New York City, Robert was the son of Robert Edward and Marilyn Elizabeth Coley, Sr.
He had the unique experience of growing up in an Army family, moving around frequently, and being educated in different places. He completed his high school education at Richfield Springs High School.
For many years, Robert was a self-employed blacksmith. He had a passion for creating things. Whether it was carving a rose out of a broken tool, recreating a face in brass, or tooling ornate designs on leather projects, he loved the process of creating things for others to enjoy.
He was an avid reader and passed on his interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy genres to his children. His love of exploring the unknown often influenced his adventures in life.
Surviving are his daughters, Casie Coley, Rome, and Tanya Coley, Utica; son, Robert E. Coley III, Oneonta; brothers, Brad and Dale Coley, their families and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Glenn Coley.
In keeping with Robert's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
Remembrances in Robert's name may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
