Ronald L. Paradis

Ronald L. Paradis, 87, of Hubbardsville, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 29, 1938, in Ogdensburg. Ron was the son of the late Louis and Janet (Johnston) Paradis. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy where he studied auto mechanics and printing. He was united in marriage to Norma J. Moulton. In 1960 Ron and Norma moved from Ogdensburg to Hamilton, where Ron began working as a typesetter at the Mid-York Weekly. He later became a skilled butcher, working at Nower's Slaughterhouse and then in several grocery stores across Central New York.
Ron's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating, waterskiing and horseback riding. A passionate sports fan, he was a decades-long Colgate Hockey season ticket holder and a loyal New York Giants and New York Rangers supporter. For 41 summers, Ron and his family made cherished memories as seasonal campers at Lebanon Reservoir Campground.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Norma J (Moulton)Paradis and their children Rick (M'Liz) Paradis and Andrea (Bernard) Empie, son-in-law, Robert "Dudley" Browning, He was a proud grandfather to Jessie (Zachary) Darrow, Randi (Gregory) Mullenax, Carson Browning, Dakota (Emily) Browning, Ryan (Mary Kate) Paradis, Gillian (Josh) Suskin, Sean (Jessica Dorr) Paradis, Connor Empie and Gwendolyn Empie. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Liam, Jamie, Jordan, Owen, Izabella, Sophia, Adelynn, Nora, Rory, Quinn, and Cameron. He will be missed by his siblings Gary Paradis and Diane Johnson.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Ronna Browning of Hubbardsville.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, prior to a memorial service at 5:00 pm, at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY 13346.
