Shirley Curtis Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Anne (Roberts) Curtis, 87, of Frankfort, NY, left this world on September 23, 2025, to be with her beloved husband and son.
Shirley was born in Utica, on November 10, 1937, the daughter of George and Edith (Glynn) Roberts. She was raised and educated locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On June 30, 1956, Shirley was united in marriage with Raymond F. Curtis, Sr., a long loving union of 66 years, until Ray's passing on January 20, 2023. Shirley will be remembered for her strength and perseverance in overcoming many obstacles in her life. Her biggest was being blind for most of her life, but that didn't stop her. She lovingly raised three children and babysat for many more and loved them as her own. She went to work at the Central Association for the Blind and Visually impaired (CABVI) where she learned to type and use a computer. She also taught herself to crochet and made several Afghans and scrunchies for all the girls. Shirley passed along many of her strong attributes to her children and grandchildren and touched many people's lives with her love and compassion. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Shirley will be truly missed by all who know her.
Mrs. Curtis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Beth Curtis; daughter, Leslie Curtis and her fiancé Thomas Clark; daughter-in-law Jennifer Curtis; cherished grandchildren, Crystal (Shea) Licari, Megan Curtis, Austin Curtis, Nicole Servatius (Michael Goracy), Sarah (Allen) Walker and Steven (Nova) Servatius, eight adored great grandchildren, Dominick Curtis, Sophia Licari, Ella Drennen, Julianna Drennen, Camille Drennen, Landon Goracy, Kiley Goracy, Joe Goracy, Colton Walker, Gardner Walker, Levi Walker, Brayden Walker, Jacob Servatius and Jayce Servatius; sister, Mary Costantine; and nephews, Michael (Pam) Costantine and family, Warren (Gina) Costantine and family and Marc (Brandie) Costantine and family. Besides her husband Ray, Sr., Shirley was predeceased by her son, Raymond Curtis, Jr. and brother-in-law, Robert Costantine.
