Virginia M. Pierce White

Morris Virginia "Ginnie" M. Pierce White, 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Cooperstown Center. Born on June 23, 1927, in Morris, NY, she was the daughter of late Clarence and Mabel (Colburn) Pierce. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Otsego County and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Morris, where she was married to Edson F. White on August 12, 1978. Virginia had a long and distinguished career as the owner and manager of Gabriel Harris Jewelers in Oneonta, NY. Her dedication to community service was evident through her leadership in organizing the Miss Otsego County Teen Pageant and her time serving on the board at Hartwick College. She is survived by her stepchildren: Mark (Patricia) White of Granby, MA; Diana White Middleton of Erie, CO. and Jonathan White of West Halifax, VT. She also leaves behind five cherished granddaughters-Rebecca Labonte, Andrea Cartabona, Erika Corona, Sarah Havey, and Kelsey Middleton-and five great-grandchildren. Virginia will be fondly remembered by her dear friend Sue Parker and family, and her beloved niece Thresea (Jared) Murphy. Virginia's life was marked by kindness, community spirit, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
