Alexander Milburg Obituary

Alexander Milburg, age 21, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 2:57 p.m., in the arms of his mother after a courageous battle with Ewing Sarcoma. Born in Lafayette, Indiana, on April 13, 2004, to Amanda Shoup and Brian Milburg. Alex was a 2022 graduate of Delphi Community High School. He was known for his sharp wit, generous heart, and fierce determination. Diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2019, Alex defied the odds through four separate battles with the aggressive cancer. He laughed, he joked, he prayed, and he lifted others even while fighting for his life. The cancer didn't prevent him from making time for the ones he loved. During his battle, he still managed to attend school in person, church, football games, prom, and even dances with his youngest sister, Serenity. After not being able to play sports anymore due to surgery, he still continued to support his friends and classmates by becoming one of the managers of the football team. Alex brought light and laughter wherever he went-whether at Riley Children's Hospital, Delphi First Assembly, or simply among friends and family. He made a lasting impact on those who knew him, often offering comfort, encouragement, or a perfectly timed joke. He was especially proud of his work with Krintz Lawn Care, where he found joy in spending his days outdoors. A loyal Green Bay Packers fan, Alex loved football and never missed a chance to talk sports with family and friends. After graduating from high school, he was accepted into an electrician apprenticeship and had plans to further his education in criminal justice, always striving to serve others and make a difference in the world around him. Among those he held closest to his heart were his two dogs, Apollo and Athena. They were his constant companions, bringing him comfort, joy, and unconditional love through every high and low. Their presence in his life meant everything to him. Alex is survived by his parents, Amanda Shoup and Brian Milburg; his siblings, Bryce, Mylie, Serenity, and Logan; his maternal grandparents, Greg (Virginia) Hummer and Susan Linderer; his dogs, Apollo and Athena; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Larry and Diann Milburg; his cousin, Noah Vaugn-Linderer; and great-grandmother, Joyce Linderer. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana. Entombment will follow.
