Geraldine Ballard Obituary
Geraldine Joan Wilson Ballard, age 96, of rural Waynetown, passed away in Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville at 5:30 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was born in Crawfordsville, June 11, 1929 daughter of the late William and Edna Keller Wilson. She married Ancil P. Ballard February 11, 1949 in the Yountsville Church and he preceded her in death March 19, 2014. They had enjoyed 65 years of marriage.
Gerry was a 1947 graduate of Alamo High School where she was the Valectorian and the only female in a class of four. She was a homemaker and helped Ancil on their farm. She had resided in rural Waynetown for over 70 years. She had resided in Wellbrooke the past four years. Gerry had been an active and faithful member of the Waynetown Christian Church, where she served as President of the Ladies Circle and Sunday School Class.
She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and mending for others…she even made her daughter-in-law's wedding dress. Gerry was a happy soul, seldom seen without a smile and laugh. Her care givers at Wellbrooke loved her!
Surviving are: her two sons: Rex (Linda) Ballard of rural Waynetown and Roy Ballard of Crawfordsville. Three granddaughters; Elizabeth (Wesley) Vickery, Erica (Jonathon) Winn and Emily (Michael) White. Great-grandchildren; Jackson, Jacob, Robyn, Madelyn, Alex, Riley and Kaylin. Two step-great-grandchildren, Conner & Tyler and brother Dwayne (Bonnie) Wilson of Lake Holiday. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a sister Ruby Rennick and two brothers, Reid and Robert Wilson.
Visitation hours are 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2025 with funeral services immediately following at 7:00 PM with Pastor and friend Andy Schiendler officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Graveside services, 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 5th at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside Ancil. Memorial contributions are preferred to the Waynetown Chrisitan Church.
