Lewis Bowsman Obituary
Louie was born November 22, 1944, in New Castle, IN, to the late Harvey and Gladys (Wise) Bowsman. Louie worked for Cargill for many years.
On June 28, 1991, he married Phyllis (Dismore) in Lafayette, IN, and she survives.
Louie was a member of the American Legion Post 492. He enjoyed country music and a good Chili Cook-Off.
Along with his wife Phyllis, he is survived by his children John (wife, Tina) Bowsman, Michael Bowsman, Eddy (wife, Lisa) Bowsman, Larry Pierce Bowsman, Terry (wife, Edith) Bowsman, and Michelle Stingley; stepchildren Johnny Wade, Jason Wade, Justin (wife, Beth) Wade, Tracy (husband, Mark) Watson, and his siblings Helen Wood and Donald Bowsman. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, son Tracy Bowsman, brothers Walter Bowsman and Raymond Bowsman, and sisters Ruth Vaughn and Margaret Hinkle, and grandson Gavin Wade.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 7th at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8th at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Chaplain David McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at Battle Ground Cemetery.
