Nancy Jane FitzSimons

. Nancy Jane FitzSimons, 79, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. She was born on October 13, 1945 in Benton County, Indiana to the late Robert and Sarah Elizabeth (Cooper) Nesbitt. On December 27, 1989, she married John Earl FitzSimons in Lafayette, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2001. Nancy was a homemaker and member of Central Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and the different church activities she was involved with. Nancy loved volunteering to help others, reading, cross stitching, and spending time with her grandkids, Harley, Kelsey, Gavin, and Scottie Lee. Surviving are her daughters, Sara Perkins (John Neal) of West Lafayette and Michelle (Scott) Strong of West Lafayette, step children, John W. (Patricia) FitzSimons of Lafayette, Christina (Philip) Guernsy of Lafayette, Bonnie Donohue of Lafayette, and Debbie (Neal) Remaly of Lafayette and her brother, Tom Nesbitt of Texas. Also surviving are her 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a thank you to the ICU unit and palliative care at St. Elizabeth Care East for their dedicated care of their loved one. A special thank you to Central Presbyterian Church for all their generosity and support. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wil Reinowski officiating. Visitation will be held at the church's Fitch Parlor from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
