Peggy Newlin Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Peggy Newlin who went to meet the Lord on July 12th after a fierce battle with lung cancer.
Born to parents Harry and Thelma Webber on May 29th 1938 in Vincennes Indiana, the second of three children and their only daughter.
Upon graduating high school Peggy married Chuck Spangler and they had two beautiful girls, Teresa and Tracy. As life sometimes goes Chuck and Peggy went their separate ways in 1961. Not long after Peggy met the love of her life and married Dick Wright. She and Dick brought two more beautiful daughters into the world and their family was complete. They spent the next 21 years raising their family when Dick tragically succumbed to cancer in 1983. Peggy was able to find companionship again marrying Jerry Newlin moving to Darlington where she learned a lot about the well drilling business. Upon the untimely death of Jerry, Peggy moved back to Lafayette to be close to her daughters. Peggy spent the last two years of her life living with Robin and her husband James, where she was wonderfully cared for. We are all so grateful for Robin's tender care and ability, and for Mom never having to go to a care facility.
Peggy was preceded in death by both of her parents Harry and Thelma Webber and her brother Glenn Webber, all three of her husbands and her daughter Teresa Jill.
Peggy is survived by her brother Robert Webber and her daughters: Tracy Jo (Robert) Bertram, Robin LeeAnn (James) Schmidt, Renee Lorain (Joseph) Butts, grandchildren: Kathryn (Patrick) Butts-Ryan, Andrew (Samantha) Butts, Olivia (Matthew) Reed, Vincent (Haley) Schmidt, Matthew (Taylor) Schmidt, Savannah (Joel) Page, Cassidy (Clayton Young) Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt and great grandchildren Addyson Butts, Archer Ryan, Hunter Butts, KinsLee Hall, Skyler Schmidt, Finnigan Ryan, Vera Reed, Eleanor Schmidt, and Penelope Ryan.
Peggy will always be remembered for her sense of style and class, love of all garden flowers, and fast and fancy cars.
A private graveside services will be held at a later date.
