Charles L. Lakatos, age 93, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at his home in Wilmington, OH.
He was born May 22, 1932 in New York, NY, son of the late Kalman Lakatos and Edna (Giering) Lakatos.
Charlie was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where he had served as Deacon; Wilmington American Legion Post #49 where he had been a member of the Honor Guard for many years ;a member of Forty & Eight, and was a US Navy Veteran serving with the Seabees.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Carl W. & Justine Lakatos, two granddaughters, Amanda Lakatos and Veronica Lakatos and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley J. Lakatos, and his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Wilda Lakatos.
Graveside Services will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Connor L. Thompson officiating. The Wilmington American Legion Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
Contributions in Charlie's memory may be made to the Wilmington First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 120 Columbus St. Wilmington, OH 45177 or Habitat for Humanity, 1032 W.
