Denise Renay Thompson, age 67, of Wilmington, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, Monday evening, March 25, 2024 at home surrounded by her husband, her children, her grandchildren and loved ones after a battle with cancer.
She was born June 23, 1956 in Maysville, KY, daughter of the late Charles Leonard & Arietta Murdock (Settles) Washington Sr.
Denise worked as a Administrative Assistant for Sodexo at Wilmington College and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
A loving wife of 45 years, a loving mother, and a devoted grandmother, survivors include her husband- Milt Thompson; Daughter- Ka'Shira B. (Jaques) Myburgh, Wilmington; son- Pastor Bryson R. (Chandra) Thompson, Troy, OH; 6 Grandchildren- Graysen Ray Charles Thompson, Zaviar Alexander Everett Thompson, Izabella Kanise Myburgh, Savaya Mae Denise Thompson, Avah JeanAnn Myburgh, Jalise Rosetta Marie Thompson; siblings-Charles L. (Betty) Washington Jr, Morehead, KY, Ret Col. Clifton E (Paula) Washington, Delaware, OH, Timothy R. (Aileen) Washington, Wilmington, NC, Daniel D Washington, Ripley, OH, Benjamin D. (Cynthia) Washington, Cincinnati, OH, Andrea L. Brown, Wilmington, OH, Tracee B. (Brian) Cloyd, Ripley, OH; mother-in-law- Diana M. Thompson; 3 siblings-in-law- Dean V. Thompson, Ripley, Robyn C. Thompson, Cincinnati, & Valerie J. (Robert) Durham, Dayton, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Denise was preceded in death by her father-in-law- Donald R. Thompson; sister-in-law- Melissa A. Taul; brother-in-law- Rick Brown.
Memorial Services will be held Time, Saturday April 13, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1920 US Rte 22 & 3, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Dave Frasure officiating. A repast will follow the service at the church.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
