Hazel Martin was born January 4, 1922 to William Roe and Rosa (nee Johnson) Roe and passed away March 26, 2018 at the age of 96.
She worked as a school teacher and librarian for 38 years. Her favorite hobby was gardening.
She was a longtime member of Gideons International. She formed two missionary societies at different churches.
She is survived by her children, Bill Martin and Sharron (Lance) Miller; grandchildren, Shannon Miller and Sean (Melissa) Miller; great-grandchildren, Haley Miller and Gavin Miller; step-granddaughter, Nikki (Brandon) Ballinger; step-great grandchildren, Addyson, Mia and Colin Ballinger; and sisters, Opal Ballard, Lucille Neal, Mary Gibson, Audrey Prim and Helen Collins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Eugene Martin; a sister, Olive Parks; and brothers, Clarence Roe and William Leslie Roe.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 7 at the Blanchester Church of the Nazarene, 10451 Ohio 28, Blanchester, where friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Graveside services will follow at the Lee Cemetery in Morehead, Ky. at 3 p.m.
Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Gideons International, PO Box 97251 Washington, DC 20090-7251.
