James H. Patterson, 82, of Wilmington, passed on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wilmington on August 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Robert and Norma Forte Patterson.
Jim was a 1954 Simon Kenton graduate. He retired, after 35 years, from Cincinnati Milacron.
Jim loved to tell big stories and was active at the Clinton County Senior Center. He enjoyed clog dancing to and listening to bluegrass music.
Jim was a very faithful man. He was happiest watching his grandchildren in their various activities and was thrilled with the arrival of great-grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Rose Conard Patterson. The two were united in marriage on June 6, 1975.
Also left to cherish his memory are children, Diana Patterson Groves of Wilmington, Kathy (Chet) Gregory of Union, Ky., Jeff (Jennifer) Patterson of Sabina, Brocke (Brigid) Conard of Loveland, Jeff (Becky) Conard of Wilmington, Jon (Martha) Conard of Colorado, Hugh (Kim) Conard of Wadsworth, and Rhonda (Harland) Mikesell of Union. In addition, surviving grandchildren include Ashley (Lane) Kidd, Nathan Mitchell, Chris Patterson, Joel Groves, Shawn (Mallory) Patterson, Afton (Mike Mclees) Hiles, Lindsay Patterson, Caleb (Jessie) Gregory, Amber (Shane) Carter, Josh (Megan) Conard, Matt (Cassandra) Conard, Tyler (Sierra) Conard, Nick (Alesa) Lunsford, Mark Lunsford, Stacy Lunsford, Danny Conard, Billy Conard, Scott Conard, Katie Conard, Suzie (Eric) Stanton, Sarah, Lauren, and Bailey Conard, and Joe Conard, Shannon Kolakowski, Todd (Lauren) Mikesell, Scott (Karli) Mikesell and Courtney Mikesell; along with 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his siblings; and a great-granddaughter, Ravin Lane Kidd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Clinton County Senior Center, 717 N. Nelson Ave., Wilmington, OH 35177.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24 from 4-7 p.m. at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at New Antioch Cemetery.
