Robert R. Johnson, age 32, of Florence, Ky., passed away suddenly on December 1, 2025. Born in 1993 in Southfield, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Tina R. (John Liebenow) Johnson of Lebanon, OH and Michael R. (Jennifer) Johnson, of Bolivar, TN.
Robert "Rob" graduated from Wilmington High School in 2012 and went on to earn his degree from Miami University. After graduation, Rob began his career in the airline transport industry at ABX Air, where he had first served as a college intern. He later joined Atlas Air, where for nearly eight years he excelled and advanced from crew scheduler to Manager of Crew Scheduling.
Rob loved spending time with his friends and family, as well as with his faithful and loving dog, Persie-anyone who knew Rob knew that Persie was his world. He was known for his kindness, caring and smile. He was known for always checking in on family members, friends, and co-workers. Rob often surprised loved ones with thoughtful gifts or photos. He enjoyed celebrating Halloween and Christmas, traveling, attending sporting events and reading.
Rob is deeply loved and will be missed by his brother, James of Cincinnati; sisters, Christina (Mark) Dimmock of Slidell, LA and Snovit Johnson of Bolivar, TN; grandparents, Ron & Mary Jane Johnson of Clarksville; aunts Amanda Johnson of Wilmington, OH, Connie Rice of Fort Wayne, IN, Cyndi Murray of Fort Wayne, IN, and Laura LaBelle of Keego Harbor, MI; cousins- Cliff, Paige, & Joshua; honorary sister Megan (Max) Liebenow McCroby and nephew Ian of Centerville, OH; aunt Debby (Jack) Daly, of Lutz, FL, aunt Rachel Fielding, of Saulsbury, TN and cousin Victoria "Tori" Edwards of Savannah, TN; as well as many cousins and honorary family members including Mark Knisley, Jordan Robinson, Caroline Hellman, Karina Kellert, Paige Drees Henke, Caitlyn Hemmer, his Cincinnati and Miami University friends and his entire Atlas Air family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lila LaBelle.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 7, at Faith Lutheran Church, 421 East Vine Street and Prairie Street, Wilmington beginning at 1:30 PM with the funeral service following at 2:15 PM. the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington is assisting the family.
