Robert R. Reynolds, age 88, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family. At the stroke of midnight, on the same day he first came into this world, Robert Reynolds took his final breath and returned home. He began and ended his earthly journey on the same sacred date, completing a circle of love, full and whole. His family will forever remember that he left us on his birthday — not as an ending, but as a gift, a moment of perfect timing, and a final blessing.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1937, and grew up in the Port William community.
Robert graduated from Port William High School, where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He also enjoyed bowling in his younger years. He began his career in the accounting department at McCall's Printing, later known as Dayton Press, where he worked for 24 years. Following this, he built a respected career as a self-employed CPA in Trotwood.
In addition to his accounting work, Robert owned and managed three apartment buildings. Throughout his life, he was active in investments and was always willing to share his knowledge to help others. He was proud of the hard work and dedication that went into balancing his professional, business, and personal ventures.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell T. Reynolds and Dorothy Reynolds. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marla Toman Reynolds; two children, Russell Reynolds and Darla Hammons, and her husband, Bo Hammons; four grandchildren, Jimmy and Brad Hammons, and Max and Sean Reynolds; and two great-grandchildren, Sammy and JJ Hammons.
Robert enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of simple joys, and his devotion to those he loved most.
