Robert F. Stone, Sr., 78 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2023.
He was born in Xenia on September 23, 1944, the son of the late William and Sarah Vinnie (Bevins) Stone. Besides his parents, he is also preceded by his brother, William Stone, Jr and sister, Connie Klickner.
Robert served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, was a member of the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church, made Native American leather, jewelry and art, enjoyed researching Cherokee history and ancestry and spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Hamilton) Stone, three sons, Robert Floyd (Heather) Stone, Jr. of New Vienna, Chad Daryl (Jonda) Stone of Leesburg and Spencer Tyrone (Angie) Stone of Hillsboro, grandchildren: Robert Floyd Stone, III, Jacob Dean Stone, Kassidy Analeigha Stone, Elijah George, Zoey George, Riley Oty, Kyla Nicole Oty, Nathan Tyler Stone, Bryce Aaron Stone, Alissa Nicole Stone, Emily Meadows and Nicholas Meadows, two great grandchildren, Zaylen Kai Ramsden and Raegan McKinley Oty, sister, Dollie (Jimmie) Workman of Peebles and special friends, Wayne Shaffer of Hillsboro and the late Brother Wiley.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday January 6, 2023 at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Martinsville with Military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of services on Friday at the church.
