The Girndt Family is saddened to announce the passing of John Lawrence Girndt on Friday, 07 November 2025. John's loving, devoted, and loyal wife of 26 years, Susan was there by his side, holding his hands as he returned to join the Lord. John was born in Columbus, Texas. As a young boy he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and helping his parents. Upon graduation he began to learn the industrial manufacturing trade by joining the historic Imperial Sugar Refining Plant in Sugar Land, Texas. From there, in 1980, John Girndt heard the call of service and proudly joined the United States Navy. John spent the next six years as Surface Ship Nuclear Propulsion Plan Operator aboard the USS Texas. John received numerous distinguished accommodations and medals during his service to the United States.
In 1987 John brought his navel and manufacturing expertise to the company 3H Products, located in Richmond, Texas. Within a few short years by way of dedication, extremely hard work, very long hours, and 100% commitment
John became the Owner of the 3H Manufacturing, Inc. It was a true testament to his work ethic.
In 1999 John's close friend, accidentally {on purpose} set-up a blind meet and greet between John and a young, professional business owner named, Susan Walkup. Neither Susan, nor John were aware they were being set-up. Well, it turns out John's friend was very good at predicting John & Susan's level of attraction for each other... John proposed to Susan within 3 months of dating and Susan confidently replied, "Yes, forever!" They were married right after the stroke of midnight 2000, in a garden and was blessed by the church four months later... when you know you know.
John was an avid golfer who qualified to join the Senior Amateur Professional Tour. John happily enjoyed repeatedly telling his golfing buddies this fact. John's next hobby was becoming a Firework Creator, he was a proud member of the PGI, Pyrotechnics Guild International. He so enjoyed thrilling all in his hometown of Needville, Texas with extensive and creative firework shows. While his love of these sports and hobbies was immense...it did not at all
compare to the complete love, devotion, time, and commitment John gave to his daughter Madison Girndt Ross. Mentor, superior tutor, and sideline Volleyball coach throughout all her high school and college years. By his actions John Girndt demonstrated what it means to be a real Dad, a real Father.
John is survived by his wife, Susan J Girndt, his daughter Madison Girndt Ross, son in law Tyler Ross and their two grandchildren Calvin and Arthur Ross, his mother Molly Hilburn, his stepfather Hayden Hilburn, sister, brother, multiple nieces and nephews. John's family pets, Max, Maggie, and Penny sure do miss his hugs and the treats he would secretly sneak them.
