Beverly J. Maloney

BLACKSTONE - Beverly J. Maloney, 85, of Blackstone, passed away Feb. 20, 2017, surrounded by her family at Milford Hospital. She was the wife of John J. Maloney of Blackstone. Born in Blackstone, she was the daughter of the late Morton C. Matteson Sr. and Florence G. Archibald.

A lifelong Blackstone resident, Beverly worked as a bookkeeper at Seneca Sports, Wetterau Incorp./Roger Williams Foods and Francolor.

Beverly loved spending time with her family and enjoyed baking for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and anyone who visited. She loved babies and children, especially proud of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special attraction to all animals and loved to feed and watch her birds.

Besides her husband of 63 years, Beverly is survived by her six children: Dennis and his wife Deborah from Blackstone, Jeffrey and Marlene Laquerre of Blackstone, Eileen Wilson and her husband Charlie of Uxbridge, Jane Wernett and her husband Ralph of Westerly, R.I., Steven and his wife Darlene of Hohenwald, Tenn., and Carrie Caouette and her husband Gerard of Blackstone, along with 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers: Morton C. Matteson, Jr.; Herbert Matteson, Milton Matteson, and sister Norma Hoyle.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul St. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations shall be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman St. STE. 306, Providence, RI 02906.
