WOONSOCKET - Dora I. Palazzini Collamati, 100, of Woonsocket passed away peacefully Monday October 9, 2017 at The Ballou Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Livio Palazzini and the late Albert Collamati.
Born in Albiano, Italy on August 9, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Adele (Salteri) Corrieri. She came to the United States in 1926 at the age of 9. She lived in Manville and resided in Woonsocket for most of her adult life.
She was employed at several mills in the area and worked at Reliance Plastics for many years before retiring in 1970.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony's Parish and was a member of the Marchegiano Club. Dora was an accomplished gardener and was known as the "plant lady of Woonsocket". She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.
Dora will be remembered for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor and her ability to put people at ease and make them laugh. Most of all she loved being with her family.
Dora was able to celebrate and enjoy her 100th birthday this past August 9th with a party at the Ballou Home where she was surrounded by those she loved. Though Dora will be sadly missed, all of her family will treasure their loving memories of her.
She is survived by her son Richard Palazzini and his wife Paula of Cumberland and her daughter Paula Tutalo and her husband Ernest of Lincoln. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by all of her siblings.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony's Church, Greene St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard- Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
