Joanne and I were deeply saddened to learn of Harold's passing after enduring a long illness. We will keep him and Jeanne in our prayers.
Harold Gould spent most of his adult life in service to others as a town official in Blackstone and State Representative (1967-68), longest serving Moderator for Northbridge, Counsel to Blackstone Valley Voc.-Tech Regional High School and Blackstone-Millville Regional High School, Trustee of Milford Medical Center, and the list goes on. He was a loyal friend and mentor to me, especially when I campaigned and was elected to the House in 1976 and, later, in 1996 to the Senate. He was a valued advisor to me throughout my years of public service. His wise counsel was of tremendous benefit to the institutions he served during a long, distinguished career. Always a gentlemen in the truest sense of the word, his exemplary integrity and commitment to community and the people of the Blackstone Valley was the essence of his being. In the words of Maya Angelou, Harold's legacy is every life he impacted and every soul he touched.
