Irene Furtado Obituary
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Adelaide (Varandas) Marks. Irene had been employed by A.T. Cross for over 10 years and also previously worked for Lebanon Knitting Mills. She was a former member of the Grupo Agora E Que Sao Elas.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, MaryEllen Mendes-Moniz and her husband, Edward; a son, John Furtado; a brother, Dr. Antonio C. Marks, and his wife, Connie; three grandchildren, Edward, Michael and David Moniz; a great-grandson, Kaedyn Moniz; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Prospect Street, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Anthony Food Pantry, 32 Lawn Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
