Joseph N. Bricault
CUMBERLAND - Joseph "Norman" N. Bricault, 97, of Cumberland, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna B. (McPhillips) Bricault, with whom he shared many cherished years of marriage.
Born in Pawtucket, Norman was the son of the late Archille and Marie Louise (Malouin) Bricault. He made Cumberland his home for more than 75 years, most recently residing with his daughter and son-in-law.
Norman answered the call of duty by enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he bravely served his country during World War II as a proud member of the Greatest Generation.
Following his military service, Norman spent his career with Miller Electric Company, dedicating many years in the shipping and receiving department. In later years he worked at Balfour Inc and various other Jewelry manufacturers in the area.
Known for his kind nature and steady presence, Norman enjoyed bowling, working on small engines, and pigeon racing in his leisure time. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida with his wife to visit his son. He was a faithful communicant of the former St. Patrick Parish in Cumberland, where his devotion and quiet faith were evident to all who knew him. Most of all, Norman loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves his beloved daughter, Christine A. Larocque and her husband Edward; his brother, Roger Bricault; three grandchildren, Michelle Gaynor (Ronald), Edward Larocque (Hannah), and Matthew Larocque (Krystal); and his; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late James N. Bricault and Richard E. Bricault and brother of the late Rene Bricault, Maurice Bricault, Marguerite Bricault, and Romeo Bricault.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Norman's Life Celebration to be held with Visitation on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM and continue on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM in the St. Aidan/St. Patrick Parish, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
