Louise Ann Rishton

1937 - 2015

NARRAGANSETT - Louise Ann Rishton, 78, of Narragansett, RI, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, passed peacefully at home on September 17, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Gilbert Rishton.
Born in Attleboro on September 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Esther (McClellan) Cataldo.
She was a graduate of Fisher Junior College in Boston, MA. Louise worked as a secretary at Crosby Ashton Valve and Gauge in Wrentham, MA.
After marrying, she supported her husband in his florist business as a bookkeeper and a customer service clerk. While living in Meredith, NH, she worked as a secretary in both a law firm and a dental office. She also worked as a sales clerk at a specialty gift shop in Center Harbor, NH.
Early in life, Louise enjoyed horseback riding, roller skating, and figure skating. As a young mother living in Pawtucket, she became a figure skating instructor at the Pawtucket Municipal Ice Rink where she taught children's lessons and assisted in creating ice shows. Louise served as a Cub Scouts Den Mother when her sons were involved in scouting. Louise was a member of the women's Altrusa Club of Meredith while residing in NH.
During her retirement years in RI, she thoroughly enjoyed the water aerobics program at the South County YMCA where she made many lasting friendships.
Louise's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grand-children. She enjoyed painting, figure skating, and the beauty of nature.
In addition to her husband Gilbert, Louise is survived by three children; Gilbert M. Rishton and his wife Emma (Polansky) of Santa Monica, CA, Lisa Louise Rishton of Okinawa, Japan, and Timothy M. Rishton and his wife JoAnne (Watkins) of South Kingstown, RI, and four grandchildren; Timothy James Rishton, Katherine Rishton, Fiona-Louise Rishton, and Clara Audrey Rishton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 20th from 4-8 PM in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Wrentham. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st at 10 AM in Trinity Episcopal Church, 47 East Street, Wrentham. Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery.
