Maria Almeida Obituary

CUMBERLAND - Maria "Celeste" (Francisco) Almeida, 57, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Fernando Almeida.
Born in Torres, Vedras, Portugal, she came to this country in 1980, settling in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland.
She was the owner with her husband of Valley Floor Covering for many years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves her sons, Marco Almeida of Cumberland, and Rui Almeida of Cumberland; her two grandchildren, Olivia and Brayden Almeida; she also leaves her many siblings in Portugal.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Philip Hulitar Inpatient Unit, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
