Normand A. Hetu

1927 - 2017

BELLINGHAM - Normand A. Hetu, 89, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Woonsocket Health Center with loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Rita P. (Trottier) Hetu for 67 years. Born in Woonsocket, RI on August 30, 1927, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lila (Beaudoin) Hetu. He was the loving father of Paulette R. Brunetti and her husband, Paul of Bellingham, Muriel L. Bernier of Woonsocket and Michael N. Hetu of Woonsocket. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Christopher P. and Jason D. Brunetti, Renee Bernier-Allen, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Marcel Hetu and Alice Vadedoncoeur.
A resident of Bellingham formerly of Woonsocket, Mr. Hetu worked as a forklift operator at Bonin Spinning for 18 years and General Motors in Framingham for 28 years until retiring. He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church Blackstone.
Mr. Hetu was a United States Army World War II Veteran and received the World War II Victory Medal, and was a member of the St. Joseph's Veteran's Club.
He was a league bowler for many years, enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a Pitch League.
Funeral will be held on Monday, June 19th, at 8:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting time from 8:30AM to 9:30AM at the funeral home prior to Mass.
